Our 1st Warners holiday at Cricket St Thomas. Not knowing what to expect we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely comfortable room for a couple of days. Our courtyard room was in a nice quite area near reception and handy for restaurant and entertainment. A short walk over to leisure club, games room etc. Lovely grounds, ideal for those that are more mobile, unlike ourselves. Staff wonderful and friendly. Had quite a good laugh with them all. Nothing was too much trouble. The walled garden rooms are in desperate need of new windows, there was a poster saying council permission had been approved for the work to be done. Our carpet was abit stained but on the whole mainly clean.

A nice little break away. Room was amazing. Book a signature room. Entertainment really good. Menu could do with updating as a roast on offer every night, but all in all value for money.

Can't recommend this hotel highly enough. We've been 3 times and have never been disappointed. Beautiful location, stunning historic building with lovely rooms, especially the ones in Cricket House, which is where we always stay. The suite is just gorgeous, a huge room with a very spacious bathroom and entrance hall. The bed is massive! The terrace bar and downstairs rooms are lovely, lots of open fires to sit by in the winter. And the staff are all lovely. Beautiful gardens and park to walk around.

Located just outside Chard, Somerset, easy to find. Plenty of carparking. Unfortunately when we went there were painters and workmen doing alterations to the reception area so we had to navigate the debris and wet paint areas for the entire stay. Our room (number 432)was clean but small and a bit outdated. The wooden window frames and patio door were rotting on the outside and needed replacing. As a chef, I found the food excellent and plentiful. Waiting staff especially Aggie were so helpful and cheerful. We always had the same table which was nicely situated. We enrolled in a few activities like archery and cocktail making. Considering we paid extra for these they were a bit disappointing, and poor value for money. The archery, run by one of the gym staff, was cut short because it was raining (even though we stood undercover to shoot). There was no offer of refund. The cocktail making, always well attended, was just a drinking session. Run by one of the Warner's Theatre team ( her first time at teaching a cocktail class) was equally rushed and she made all the cocktails with no interesting anecdotes etc. previously we had attended a cocktail class at Warner's Bodelwyddan Castle, and had made our own drinks under the guidance of the member of staff. Much more interactive and fun. On the whole a very enjoyable experience though, despite our 10 minutes walks to the dining room!

Very comfortable with all amenities covered. Whilst many rooms had lovely views, ours looked into a courtyard and obscured at best. Entertainment crew excellent and lots to do indoors and beautiful grounds to explore. Food was acceptable for mass produced buffet style presentation.

Superb stay - room really nicely finished, comfortable and clean. Massive bed and shower that nearly knocked me over. Slick table service for food and drinks - lots of open fires to sit next to. Amazing walks in the gardens - brilliant food and well managed dining - great entertainment - will be back

Warner Hotels Cricket St. Thomas is a fantastic place to stay we have just celebrated our 58th Wedding Anniversary there and it was wonderful. Staff are helpful and look after you so well. Jack was out waiter for our 4 days and he was caring, helpful and friendly. Always made us feel at home in his section of the Dining room and a great help. We stayed in the walled garden area which was perfect for us. No stairs all on the flat just perfect. The Hotel is set in beautiful gardens and land as far as you can see. If you like walking you will be in your element here. The river and lake areas are beautiful and we were lucky to have good weather to enjoy the beautiful scenery the surrounds the Big House. In the Big House on a Tuesday afternoon Jay Hobday gave a very informative and enjoyable story of Cricket House as the home it once was before becoming a Hotel. It was fun and great the facts we learnt and the people who have visited and called it home. Don't miss the tales she tells and the historic candal you learn well worth listening too Jay. Midweek Entertainment guide is great to learn what ys on all week. And every evening in the Pavilion Theatre Bar you are entertained by great singers, a magician and much more. The resident Band 'Distinction' are fantastic they play every night. Showtime - Warner Theatre Company were outstanding with there entertainment and versatility. 'Musicals Now' and 'Rock Of Stages' productions were fantastic and well worth clapping your hands too. It was as good as any West End show in my opinion. I loved everything about my time at Warner Hotels Cricket St. Thomas. Room/Garden Food, Entertainment, Spectacular scenery the beautiful Church you also can visit and friendliness of all STAFF.
